Band leader
Reid Wells and his brother Carson are no strangers to the world of western
swing. Throughout the 60's Reid and Carson put thousands of miles on the road
behind them performing with the likes of Willie Nelson, Faron Young, Charlie
Pride and others. In the early 70's Reid took a hiatus from his music career
that lasted thirty years. Now in the 21st Century Reid and Carson Wells are
back to what they love most and do best - western swing music.
"It
was one of the happiest days of my life when I heard we had been nominated
for the award but I never dreamed we would actually win when I looked at the
other nominees," quips Reid. |

Produced
by brothers Reid and Carson Wells, the title track from the album climbed
to number 1 on the CCMA Western Swing Chart soon after its release and has
been receiving numerous accolades both here in the U.S. and Europe. The group
was also nominated for Best Swing Song and Best Western Group, no small feat
when among such other nominees as Asleep at the Wheel, The Texas Playboys
and Billy Mata.
Recorded
and mixed locally at Greg Forest's Music Office Studio, the Wells brothers
used their core band members David Spangler, Mickey Rice and Guy Davis and
rounded out the album with guest appearances by Bobby Flores (also a multiple
nominee) and Floyd Domino. The members of the band have, collectively, over
two hundred years of performing experience and it shows in every song. Most
of the songs were penned by lead vocalist Reid Wells including the number
one song, "So In Love With You." Carson Wells, a world-renowned
steel guitarist, handled all the arrangements and day-to-day production duties.
